A civil engineer and master&#8217;s student in environmental management at the Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke, his final-year project focuses on the sustainable management of urban rainwater.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working with municipalities, urban planners and local stakeholders, Samba&#8217;s participatory approach aims to involve Magog&#8217;s citizens in the design and implementation of water management solutions. Consultations, interactive platforms and surveys will enable residents to take an active part in thinking about the development of their territory, and at the same time raise their awareness about water issues and the importance of adapting to climate change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to a cash bursary, Andr\u00e9 Delisle bursary winners receive professional coaching from one or more members of the TES team. In Samba&#8217;s case, he will be mentored by V\u00e9ronique Frigon, Project Manager and Director of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean office, who will offer him ten hours of consulting services tailored to his needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a reminder, in the spring of 2023 TES <a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/blogue-expertise\/transfert-environnement-et-societe-fait-un-don-de-75-000-a-luniversite-sherbrooke-pour-former-la-releve-en-acceptabilite-sociale\/\">donated $75,000<\/a> to the <em>Centre universitaire de formation en environnement et en d\u00e9veloppement durable de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke<\/em> (CUFE) for the creation of the Bourse Andr\u00e9 Delisle en participation publique to support students working on issues related to citizen participation and the environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alongside its commitment to supporting the next generation of researchers, and advances in the fields of social acceptability and public participation, TES\u2019 philanthropic contribution is intended to contribute to the training of the next generation of specialists and the emergence of new talent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TES is pleased to support Samba&#8217;s project, which will contribute to the promotion of informed citizen participation. The third student to benefit from the Andr\u00e9 Delisle Bursary, prior to Samba, were a student team who developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/en\/blog-expertise\/transfert-supports-quebecs-next-generation-of-environmental-professionals\/\">highly successful<\/a> public consultation plan for the Organisme de bassin versant du Lac-Saint-Jean, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/en\/blog-expertise\/transfert-unveils-the-second-winner-of-the-andre-delisle-bursary\/\">student<\/a> writing her final-year essay on a good neighbor dispute between a company and its host community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Contribute to the advancement of research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone wishing to contribute to the advancement of environmental and public participation research is invited to make a donation to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usherbrooke.ca\/environnement\/\">Environmental Clinic<\/a> or contribute to the Universit\u00e9 Sherbrooke&#8217;s <em>Choisir de changer l&#8217;avenir<\/em> campaign.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Specialists wanted<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CUFE is <strong>looking for specialists with specific expertise<\/strong> (e.g. water management, circular economy, sustainable development in organizations, environmental communication, adaptation to climate change) to help support its students.
