{"id":12937,"date":"2025-06-05T10:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-05T14:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/?post_type=blogue-expertise&#038;p=12937"},"modified":"2025-07-10T14:52:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T18:52:17","slug":"andre-delisle-bursary-2025","status":"publish","type":"blogue-expertise","link":"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/en\/blog-expertise\/andre-delisle-bursary-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Transfert Awards the Andr\u00e9 Delisle Bursary for Citizen Participation to Andr\u00e9anne Savoie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Transfert is proud to announce that the 4th Andr\u00e9 Delisle Bursary for Citizen Participation has been awarded to Andr\u00e9anne Savoie, a graduating student in the Master\u2019s program in Environmental Management at the Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke.<\/p>\n<p>As part of her final project, Andr\u00e9anne developed a public consultation process for the City of Rigaud\u2019s Climate Change Adaptation Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Her project stood out for its rigour, relevance, and strong connection to local realities. In addition to identifying concrete measures to strengthen the region\u2019s resilience, the proposed consultation process includes an ambitious citizen participation component: a public survey, consultation workshops, and targeted meetings with community groups and experts. A truly integrated, inclusive, and strategic approach.<\/p>\n<p>The plan aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equip municipal decision-makers with tools to design effective adaptation measures;<\/li>\n<li>Reduce costs associated with inaction or inadequate responses;<\/li>\n<li>Align municipal budgets more effectively with the new climate reality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is this ability to translate a global challenge into smart, sensitive, and impactful local action that led our team to award this year\u2019s scholarship to Andr\u00e9anne in recognition of the outstanding quality of her project.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, in the spring of 2023 TES\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/blogue-expertise\/transfert-environnement-et-societe-fait-un-don-de-75-000-a-luniversite-sherbrooke-pour-former-la-releve-en-acceptabilite-sociale\/\">donated $75,000<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0<em>Centre universitaire de formation en environnement et en d\u00e9veloppement durable de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke<\/em>\u00a0(CUFE) for the creation of the Andr\u00e9 Delisle Bursary for Citizen Participation to support students working on issues related to citizen participation and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside its commitment to supporting the next generation of researchers, and advances in the fields of social acceptability and public participation, TES\u2019 philanthropic contribution is intended to contribute to the training of the next generation of specialists and the emergence of new talent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contribute to the advancement of research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anyone wishing to contribute to the advancement of environmental and public participation research is invited to make a donation to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usherbrooke.ca\/environnement\/\">Environmental Clinic<\/a>\u00a0or contribute to the Universit\u00e9 Sherbrooke\u2019s\u00a0<em>Choisir de changer l\u2019avenir<\/em>\u00a0campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Students wishing to obtain further information on the Andr\u00e9 Delisle Bursary for Citizen Participation should contact the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usherbrooke.ca\/environnement\/\">Centre universitaire de formation en environnement et d\u00e9veloppement durable<\/a>\u00a0directly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">-30-<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about our <a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/en\/commitment\/\">public engagement.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>About\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/transfertconsult.ca\/en\/\">Transfer Environment and Society<\/a>\u00a0:\u00a0<em>Transfert<\/em>\u00a0specializes in public participation and social acceptability, with a mission to bridge the gap between project developers and their host communities.
