Isaac Gauthier is deeply committed to building lasting bridges between organizations and communities. He stands out for his ability to grasp nuances, understand complex social dynamics, and bring clarity to challenging issues.
As Partner and Project Director at Transfert, Isaac leads the firm’s expertise in social risk analysis. Driven by strong convictions in social and environmental justice, he brings a sharp and thoughtful perspective to contemporary challenges. Passionate about current affairs, he combines strong analytical skills with a 360-degree view of the contexts in which projects take shape.
Over the past eight years at Transfert, Isaac has led numerous engagement and consultation activities with Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences across Québec, Nunavik, and Ontario.
His work in the mining, industrial, energy, and municipal sectors has allowed him to collaborate with a wide range of communities and organizations. This extensive field experience gives him a fine understanding of social and territorial dynamics, which he applies with care and precision. He is particularly focused on designing inclusive and effective participatory processes that reflect the cultural and regional specificities of the communities involved.
Clients rely on Isaac’s intellectual rigor and methodological discipline to strengthen their social performance, align with international industry standards (TSM, ICMM, and others), build stronger community relationships, and enhance the social acceptability of their projects.

Within Transfert, he also acts as a practice leader, mentoring colleagues and advancing the firm’s approaches.
Isaac is fully bilingual and holds a Master’s degree in Environment from the Université de Sherbrooke, a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from McGill University, and a Certificate in Journalism from the Université de Montréal. Before joining Transfert, he worked as a journalist at Radio-Canada in Ontario.
He also teaches at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he co-leads the course Environmental Conflicts and Their Challenges.
