For over 15 years, TES has been facilitating and coordinating the meetings of the vigilance committees at Waste Management’s two landfill sites in Quebec. The committees were set up to involve communities more closely in monitoring the company’s activities and to always maintain direct communication with the public and its neighbors.
Over the years, TES has renewed both of the committee’s management, firstly to meet provincial requirements and secondly to make them representative, functional, and collaborative bodies. Time and again, committee members have recognized TES’ contribution as a neutral, independent third party to facilitate meetings and draft minutes.
It is to Waste Management’s credit that it has set up these committees, where fruitful, two-way exchanges continue to this day.
