Montréal, November 7th, 2024 – It is with conviction that we are releasing today our 2024-2025 Indigenous Peoples Reconciliation Plan. The result of our team’s sincere commitment to reconciliation, this Plan embodies our desire to root and structure our approaches and practices in a coherent and realistic roadmap for the coming years.
“For more than a decade, Transfert’s commitment to reconciliation has been firmly anchored in the company’s DNA. The adoption of our Reconciliation Plan is the logical continuation of this commitment, as we respond to the call to action issued to all companies in the country by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada in 2015,” explains Benoit Théberge, Project Director and Partner – Indigenous Relations.
“Through our daily work in public participation and community relations, we have the privilege of actively working with several Indigenous communities across the land. For the past 5 years, we have been offering our colleagues and clients training and coaching so that they can be better allies in reconciliation. In 2022, we joined our voices for the Government of Quebec to adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, affirming our support for sustainable development that respects these communities,” he continues.
Our plan reflects our ongoing commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. We are determined to play an active role in this long-term process and contribute to a fairer future.
Based on 8 objectives and 21 actions, our Reconciliation Plan will structure, formalize, and accelerate the adoption of best practices, and, we hope, inspire other companies to act in favour of reconciliation by adopting similar plans.
“If we mobilized our team around this important approach, it is because it is in line with our values. In addition, with our B Corp certification, we are committed to increasing our impact, in particular by adopting structured measures to reach our goal. Our Reconciliation Plan is therefore the clear expression of our values and commitments.” explains Alexandra Boileau, Director of Operations and Partner.
Before its adoption, our Plan was submitted for comments and improvements to the team at Ashukan Institute with whom we collaborate. We thank them very warmly for their invaluable help.
We also warmly thank the members of our team who worked on the development of our Reconciliation Plan, with Benoit Théberge, Project Director and Partner – Indigenous Relations, at the forefront, who was the project manager.
