Montreal, February 9, 2024 – TES is proud to announce that Marie-Hélène Gauthier has joined its team as an expert in public participation. With her wealth of experience, she will play a key role as a strategic advisor to TES and its clients.

Prior to joining TES, she worked for ten years at the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE), where she held various positions, including Acting President from July 2022 to July 2023. During this period, Ms. Gauthier brilliantly managed various files, consolidating BAPE’s governance while effectively mobilizing its teams. Since 2022, she has also been a member of the Science and Knowledge Technical Advisory Committee of the Canadian Impact Assessment Agency.

A 1993 graduate of Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law, Marie-Hélène has since navigated the fields of law, management, mediation, and teaching. She obtained a graduate diploma in management from the École des hautes études commerciales in 1995, then became a member of the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec (IMAQ) as an accredited mediator in 2017.

At the same time, from 2011 to 2020, Ms. Gauthier held lectureships at the Département des sciences juridiques of the Université du Québec à Montréal, where she taught courses in municipal law, environmental law, and major risk management. She was also a lecturer at the Faculté de l’aménagement de l’Institut d’urbanisme de l’Université de Montréal.

Her in-depth knowledge of the regulatory and legislative framework, as well as of the Quebec and federal assessment processes, and her participation in a dozen commissions of inquiry, make her an ideal collaborator.

TES is delighted that Marie-Hélène has chosen to put her talents at the service of its mission and wishes her the warmest of welcomes!
